Adobe Illustrator Checklist
Convert fonts to outlines (Type -> Create Outlines
Expand Strokes (Object -> Expand)
Embed linked images
Organize each print color on separate layers

Avoid text smaller than 0.25 inches tall

Avoid extremely thin lines

Simplify intricate details
